    A fear of extraterrestrial abdduction suggests that Aurthor is afraid of his own attributes that define his individuiality, whether it is a uniquie talent or a physica feature; or his fear could stem from a need to feel special do to monotiny or a lack of any charicteristic that stands out above mediocer and is perpetually over shadowed by the social norm.
